During the month of September, the Tonga.Online project reaches a peak both at the Ars Electronica festival in Linz and during the tour of the Austrian music group, Windhund, to the Binga area in Zimbabwe.

TRANSMITTING
In 1957, the ethnomusicologist, Hugh Tracey made over 80 recordings of Tonga music in the Zambezi Valley shortly before the area was flooded to make way for the building of Kariba dam. As part of the Tonga.Online project at Ars Electronica, these recordings return to the valley through a rather complicated series of connections. TALKING
On Monday 9 September, from 12:00 to 12:30 in the Brucknerhaus, Linz, Keith Goddard from Zimbabwe talks during the symposium
PLUG-IN III: WIRING AFRICA about the Tonga.Online project and the meaning of THE LOOP as part of this communication process.

FILMING
Film maker, Thomas Schneider, presents a series of videos under the title LO-FI BARRIER.

MEETING
From 7th to 12th September, Keith Goddard and members of the Austria-Zimbabwe Friendship Association will be in the electrolobby - TransIT Room (Brucknerhaus) at Ars Electronica to talk to anyone interested in finding out more about the Tonga.Online presence at the festival.
